I feel that religions are primarily concerned with dogma reather than religion. Many teach their faith didactically and do not encourage a questionning mind. They say 'this is the way that it is, dbecause i say it is so'. You might call it brainwashing rather than education.

I liked his points about perspective, although of course it is only scientific discoveries that allow us to calculate the size of the universe, or the photograph of the 'pale blue dot' that put our place in it into ever clearer perspective.

Good points about art. Re cherry picking, is it not a bit like saying 'well, Hitler was an excellent orator and I adire him for it'. True, but...
